Saltik was born out of the frustration of not being able to find a fishing shirt we wanted to wear. We were looking for something simple, breathable and decent looking. But all we could find were busy shirts featuring oversized fish or tacky patterns.

We thought, why can’t fishing shirts be simple, comfortable, and actually look good? Why does style seem to go out the window when it comes to fishing apparel? Frustrated by the lack of choice, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create something better.

That’s where Saltik came in. We set out to create shirts that perform as well as they look – no loud logos, no busy prints. Just clean, understated style. Something that works just as well on the boat as it does at the beach.

For me, this journey is personal. Growing up in Victoria, I spent countless trips exploring waters across the state and up the east coast of Australia. I’ve fished through the dry southern heat to the sticky humidity of the northern tropics. Fishing has always been about so much more than the fish. It’s my way to disconnect, decompress, and reset. As someone with work and a young family, fishing is my chance to get outdoors with my two boys, embrace adventure, and reconnect with nature.

This love of fishing, combined with my passion for design, is what led to Saltik. As a designer, I’ve always valued simplicity and functionality, and I wanted to bring that same mindset to fishing apparel. Saltik was born from a desire to create shirts that combine performance, comfort, and style.
